Watching what you search for online is not enough to protect you from viruses.
Anti-virus software is designed to prevent, search for, detect, and remove software viruses, and other malicious software like worms, trojans, adware, and more. It is critical that these tools be installed on your network and are up-to-date. A computer without anti-virus software installed can be infected within minutes of connecting to the internet. This can result in a loss of productivity due to system corruption, data loss and risk infecting other workstations in the office. Even worse, it could qualify as a breach under HIPAA.
Having a current and up-to-date antivirus solution in place will reduce the likelihood of viruses or malware.
